Refugee Legal Support (RLS) is delighted to welcome Greek Lawyer Iliana Bompou to our team in Athens.

Refugee Legal Support (RLS) is delighted to welcome Greek Lawyer Iliana Bompou to our team in Athens. Iliana will be working as a full-time Greek lawyer at our clinic, which is based in the Solidarity Centre, Athens. She will be assisted by our team of volunteer British lawyers, and work closely with the team of lawyers from Greek refugee charity SolidarityNow.

Iliana is a Greek lawyer registered in Athens Bar Association. She studied Law in Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki and she holds a Master’s degree in International law and Diplomatic studies from Panteion University of Athens.

Since 2015 she has been actively engaged in the protection and legal representation of asylum seekers and refugees in Greece as she has worked in various positions within UNHCR as well as Greek NGO’s. Her main field of practice is human rights law, asylum law and the implementation of the Dublin Regulation with regards to family reunion.

As a Greek lawyer with considerable experience working on immigration and asylum issues, Iliana will play a pivotal role furthering RLS’s mission in Athens: to provide vital, free legal assistance and representation to refugees.
