A new step-by-step guide to the UK's Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP)



A new guide produced by the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative provides much-needed step-by-step information on the UK’s Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP).

The new guide:

  • Provides a step-by-step guide that covers the full ARAP process, including eligibility criteria, the application process the initial application all the way to what you should do if your application is unsuccessful

  • Is designed to be used by anyone from a non-legal background to prepare and submit and application without the support of a legal adviser

  • Is available in Dari, Pashto and English

  • Has been developed by a group of expert lawyers

  • Has been tested and revised with members of the Afghan community in Afghanistan and the surrounding region

  • There is an online feedback form for the users to share their feedback and thoughts with our team.

The Afghan Pro Bono Initiative is a joint project between Refugee Legal Support, Safe Passage International and 14 leading law firms. The project provides free legal advice and representation to help people apply to be reunited with their family in the UK and access the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP) scheme, as well as providing information on the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme. The Afghan Pro Bono Initiative dedicates significant resources on engaging with the affected communities across the UK.
